If I had to eat this stuff everyday I'd be a chunky monkey because, well... I'm just not gonna do it! Not only does sameness bore me but if my food doesn't evoke a slight head drop followed by Mmm...., I’ll probably never eat it again no matter how healthy it is.
Most people still hold on to the idea that healthy food is bland. Well, it is if it's prepared that way – no color, no flavor, no kick. To solve this problem, first buy better-quality foods, the fresher the better, which is what you’ll get when shopping at farmer's markets or signing up with a CSA (community supported agriculture – a local farm delivers a fresh box of goodies to your door). Then, spice up your dish with your favorite flavors. Besides salt and pepper, consider other meal enhancers like sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, chili sauce, cinnamon, olives, curry, peppers, and so on. Not only are you adding great flavor and color but you’re also creating a healthier dish. It also helps if you fully breathe in the dish which can help you taste all the nuances.
Now... forget what your mom said and play with your food!
